Two systems – one well-designed concept
With the DekoRolli RC9®, Birnthaler Feuerwehrbedarf has developed a mobile decontamination shower that can be set up directly at the scene. It enables an initial coarse cleaning of personnel before removing their PPE, significantly reducing contact with soot, smoke residues, and other toxic substances right from the start.
The Oxy3 system addresses challenges where conventional cleaning methods often reach their limits. It uses the highly oxidative power of ozone to completely destroy polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and other residues in a very short time – while being especially gentle on materials. PPE textiles, helmets, equipment, and even vehicle interiors can be reliably treated – without the use of water, chemicals, or heat.
The biggest advantage: both systems complement each other perfectly. While the DekoRolli is used immediately after an operation, the Oxy3 system provides subsequent deep decontamination – stationary, automated, and with traceable documentation.

Successful Debut at the WFV State Conference
At the State Conference of the Bavarian Industrial Fire Brigade Association (WFV) on April 24, 2025, the system was presented for the first time. Fire departments had the opportunity to learn firsthand about its benefits and application possibilities.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and highlights the need for a high-performance decontamination solution. The first delivery of an Oxy3 unit with decontamination cabinet in Bavaria is just around the corner.
