Since 2024, pro aqua meets the high standards for the production of medical devices and can provide official proof of this.

Biocidal Products Regulation (EU) No 528/2012
This regulation governs the provision and use of products intended to destroy or neutralize harmful organisms (viruses, bacteria, etc.). This biocidal function of the product is very often expressed by the term disinfection. Electrolysis systems with a biocidal function therefore require biocidal product authorization, which pro aqua has for its systems as follows:
- Active ingredient: Active chlorine, produced from sodium chloride by electrolysis
- Applications: In accordance with Annex V of the Biocidal Products Regulation
- PT 1: Human Hygiene
- PT 2: Disinfectant for surfaces, materials and equipment
- PT 3: Hygiene in the veterinary sector
- PT 4: Food and Feed Sector
- PT 5: Drinking water
- PT 11: Protective agent for liquids in cooling and process systems
